Guest Lecture From Metalworks Alumni Alexandra Soumalias

Recently, we were pleased to welcome alumni Alexandra Soumalias, AKA Ally Sou, back to the MWI campus for a guest lecture. Alexandra completed both the Audio Production & Engineering and Music Business programs, and has become in-demand for both artist development and for her songwriting talents. Alexandra splits her time between Toronto and Los Angeles and has co-written projects with artists including Saya and Blajk, earning her millions of streams on Spotify.

During her visit, Alexandra spoke with students in the Music Business Program about her experience at Metalworks and how the relationships she established here have continued into her career, “It was a huge advantage for me coming out of school with a nucleus [of contacts].”

She also offered students some simple but solid advice, “You need to work hard first before you can work smart. You have to love it enough to love it more than you hate it.”

Check out her last update to learn more about Ally Sou and her work.
