On Saturday, March 14th our students, Matthew Tio, Erik Sist and Ryan Smith volunteered for MusiCounts/JUNOs. This year as part of JUNOFest, MusiCounts hosted a Panel Workshop with 2015 JUNO Nominees for Producer and Recording Engineer of the Year.

This event was held in this year’s host city of Hamilton at the Sheraton, Jackson Square in the Grand Ballroom and included the following nominees:

Jack Richardson Producer of the Year: Adam Messinger, Eric Ratz, Gavin Brown, Jesse Zubot and Thomas “Tawgs” Salter.

Recording Engineer of the Year: George Seara, Jeremy Darby, John “Beetle” Bailey and Lenny Derose.

The panel featured discussion on methods, concepts and gear used in making records and was in support of MusiCounts. MusiCounts aids in keeping music alive in schools and communities across Canada by putting musical instruments into the hands of kids that need them most. By volunteering, our three students directly contributed to this organization while getting hands-on industry experience and partaking in invaluable panel discussion.
