Coopers Pub in Mississauga was the place to be on Friday April 12th 2013 with the highly anticipated Performance Night! With over three months of hard work and preparation behind them, the inaugural Music Performance and Technology (MPT) students were ready to showcase their hard work and talent. The MPT program is audition based and consists of five different majors: Guitar, Vocal, Keyboard, Drums and Percussion, and Bass Guitar. The students divided their talents to form six different bands; each band performed an original song along with a variety of cover songs all transformed to suite each bands unique style and taste. Some of the artists covered included Muse, The Beatles, Elvis, Justin Bieber and Trey Songz to name a few.
With production services provided by our live production students, the night was a huge success. Audience members consisted of parents, current students, faculty, our alumni, and staff members from Metalworks Institute, Metalworks Studios and Metalworks Production Group! A big thank you goes out to the live production students, performers, Coopers Pub and to everyone that came out to watch! Academics Director Craig Titus commented on the evening, “the amount of hard work and passion each student put into their performance was obvious; we have a lot of really talented students here at Metalworks Institute.”
