Ear Training for Musicians: Intervals & Scales

This course will provide students with an introduction to the fundamental concepts of ear training from a musician’s perspective. During this course students will examine harmonic and melodic intervals, inverted intervals, major and minor scales, pentatonic scales and chromatic scales. Most notably, this course will focus on the audible recognition of these concepts through practical application as well as its relation to notated music. In addition, this course will also discuss methods and techniques used to identify intervals & scales by ear.
