MWI Student Abhishek Venkatachalam Wins Ron Lenyk Inspiring Youth Arts Award

On Tuesday May 30th Mississauga’s Living Arts Centre recognized this year’s four recipients of the Ron Lenyk Inspiring Youth Arts Award. Metalworks Institute’s own Music Performance & Technology – Vocal Major student Abhishek Venkatachalam was one of the four selected recipients!

Ron Lenyk was the CEO of the Living Arts Centre from 2011 to 2015; in memory of his commitment to the Mississauga community, generous spirit and love of the arts, the Living Arts Centre created the Ron Lenyk Inspiring Youth Arts Award. Launched for the first time in 2016, these awards are designed to support, foster and celebrate young talent in Mississauga.

Abhishek was also the recipient of Metalworks Institute’s 2016 Slaight Family Scholarship and has continued to work towards solidifying his success and devotion to the arts and his community.
