Metalworks Sponsors This Year’s Boston Pizza Idol

This summer, Boston Pizza Square One is hosting Boston Pizza Idol. The karaoke competition takes place every Tuesday all summer starting June 26th. This is the biggest Boston Pizza Idol ever, with a $5000 Grand Prize and studio time from Metalworks for the Top 3 finalists. The event is hosted by one of our very own Admission Counsellor, Joel Martin, and features industry professionals as judges, from Warner Music, iLLScarlett, The Arkells, Canadian Idol and Metalworks Institute. “I can’t wait to host Boston Pizza Idol! I was a guest judge last year and the event was really popular,” Joel Martin says. “Boston Pizza has upped the ante this year with a $5000 grand prize. We’ve sponsored the event by donating studio time to the top 3 finalists. I’ve secured some fantastic industry professionals to judge the competition including reps from Warner Music Canada, Black Box Records, Canadian Idol finalists and members of the Arkells and ill Scarlett.” This is a 10 week contest with weeks 1, 2 and 3 being tryouts to make the top 10 finalists. The 10 finalists will be announced week 4. They will then sing for the following 7 weeks competing for the best score from the judges. The winners of the $5000 and the studio time will be announced at the big finale on August 28th. Every Tuesday starting June 26th, seating starts at 9pm and the competition begins at 10pm.
