Guitar and Bass Day at Metalworks InstituteOur Institute presents Guitar & Bass Day on Sunday, September 25th 2011 from 11am-5pm. This FREE all day event will be hosted by Music Performance & Technology Program Director Mark Homer and will feature performances, educational guitar & bass clinics, giveaways and tours of the world-renowned Metalworks Studios.

Rob Tardik and Andrew Aldridge will be presenting a clinic on Roland’s guitar synth technologies.

Curtis Freeman will be presenting a bass clinic titled “How to be the Ultimate Sideman and Asset to any Band.” In this clinic, Curtis will touch on techniques and styles required to be a well-rounded musician, as well as what is “required to get hired.”

At 3pm, Magna Carta recording artists Dave Martone (Joe Satriani) and Glen Drover (Megadeth) will take part in a historic performance that will be webcast worldwide as part of the “Live At Metalworks” series from Mississauga, Canada. The live webcast will be presented by OrchardTV, one of the foremost webcasting companies in this field, and can be seen at http://live.magnacarta.net/. Both Dave Martone and Glen Drover have produced critically acclaimed albums showcasing their world-class talents as guitarists and composers. Dave and Glen individually have developed fans and followers throughout the world who have been impressed with both their technical abilities and emotional depth as artists. Both guitarists will be backed by their own group of outstanding musicians making this both a showcase of amazing talent and an informal “clinic” for musicians around the globe.

The September 25th webcast will be presented from our newly completed North Auditorium.
