Douglas Caldwell began his career in the Radio industry, spending six years in Nova Scotia developing his talents behind the microphone for Annapolis Valley Radio and Q104FM Rock Radio. Before long, the idea of working in Canada’s music industry led to a job as National Promotion Director for Island Record Canada. For over two years he worked there with acts such as Melissa Etheridge, Marianne Faithful and Canada’s own Andrew Cash.
Following his tenure at Island Records, Doug spent the next seven years with Virgin Music Canada in roles as A&R Rep and National Marketing Manager. Here, he worked with an extensive list of acts such as Spice Girls, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz and many more. Doug rounded out this chapter in his career by working the next seven years with major label EMI Music Canada, as Director of Marketing Strategies for EMI’s Associated Labels Division.
