Alumni Update: Rob Panchuk, Entertainment Business Management

In 2008, with the help of  fellow classmate/graduate and a few business partners, graduate Rob Panchuk went on to start up his own management company, Instigator Music Group, which focuses on managing producers and artists within the urban genres. Their artists have had several videos on rotation with Much Music, local radio play on Toronto’s Flow 93.5 FM and international attention in Australia (Raw FM), the USA and the UK (BBC Radio 1).

In 2012, Rob and his team went on to launch a publishing division and have been pushing their artist’s catalogs for licensing placements with opportunities in film, TV and advertisements. With a growing network they have landed placements and secured deals for their artists with MTV (Made, Guy Code, Tru Life), VH1 (Love & Hip Hop), Spike TV (Ink Masters), Oxygen Network, AUX TV, The Score Sports Network and more.  The producers and song writers they currently work with have had songs placed on records with Kid Ink (Tha Alumni / RCA), Devin Crusie (Tha Alumni / RCA), Nino Brown (We the Best / YMCMB), Travis Porter (JIVE), Nipsey Hussle, Sarkodie (Konvict Music), Donnis (Fools Gold Records), JD Era (Ice H20 Canada), and CP Records to name a few.

2013 has seen the launch of their newest division, a freelance marketing and PR firm, Breaking Ground Music Marketing. Rob expects it will be fully operational later this year and plans to specialize in simple marketing solutions, public relations, promotions, email marketing, blog services, DJ services, merchandising and more; all for independent artists within the urban music community.
