Alumni Update: Nicole Pitre, Music Performance & Technology (Vocal Major)

Nicole Pitre, a 2016 honours graduate of the Music Performance & Technology (Vocal Major) Diploma Program, has just started an exciting new position as the Owner and Principal of Stagecoach Performing Arts Milton & Burlington!

When we last caught up with Nicole, she was teaching singing, piano and performance technique across the GTA, as well as performing in multiple bands. She now brings that wealth of experience to her dual role as an educator and business owner at Stagecoach.

Nicole has enthusiastically taken the reigns in her new position, telling us “I can’t express the joy and excitement I am feeling as I start this new chapter. Stagecoach holds a very special place in my heart and I am beyond thankful for this opportunity. I very much look forward to continuing and growing these amazing schools in Milton & Burlington! We have already been extremely busy planning the year’s curriculum and activities. … we have some exciting events in store, such as a Raptors 905 game performance, Tour of Metalworks Recording studio, Milton’s Culture Days Festival & Burlington’s Joseph Brant Day Festival just to name a few.”

We then asked Nicole about her experience as a student at Metalworks Institute and this is what she had to say:

“For me, the most helpful aspect of my Metalworks education was having teachers that genuinely wanted to see me succeed. If I ever needed help with a subject, advice, gig opportunities or support – it was always there. Not only that, but the wealth of knowledge that is right in front of you at Metalworks is unbelievable. In two years, I was able to learn so much about every aspect of the industry that I am passionate about. It’s because of that, that I was able to see and go after such an amazing opportunity.”

She then shared some advice for current and future Metalworks students:

“If I were to give any advice to current Metalworks Students, it would be to take in all the information that you possibly can. Don’t complain about the work, and just do it, because nothing worthwhile comes easy. You never know where that information is going to come into play – and trust me, it will – and your hard work and dedication will pay off. For any recent graduates, I would say, to seize any opportunity you can! You have the tools, you have the knowledge, so use what you have learned at Metalworks and find any opportunity you can to help you grow. The opportunities are out there, even if they are terrifying, go after them!”

We couldn’t agree more and we wish Nicole all the best with her new position at Stagecoach!
