Alumni Update: Megan Slabach, Show Production & Event Management

After completing the Show Production & Event Management Program at Metalworks Institute in 2012, Megan secured a position as the Technical Director, Lighting & Audio Visual Designer for a church in Uniontown, Ohio. This opportunity provided her with the creative freedom of design creation and the fundamental knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair. In addition, she was able to further her leadership skills through the training of new technicians in the mentioned areas.

After two and a half years, Megan was given the opportunity to join the team at the Players Guild Theatre of Canton as the Props Master and Assistant Stage Manager. She is currently in her second season as the Resident Stage Manager and is additionally responsible for lighting and sound operations during show performances. Theatre is Megan’s biggest passion and the sentimental value of this particular theatre has made is a tremendously rewarding experience.

Outside of the theatre, Megan also works as a full-time Audio Visual Technician at PSAV in Cleveland. This position has been very beneficial in allowing her to gain additional experience in her field. The combination of working with the theatre and at PSAV has been very complementary and provided immeasurable value. Megan is currently working towards becoming an Audio Specialist at PSAV and plans to transfer to New York City with the Company in the near future.
