Alumni Update: Kassie Dobie, Professional Sound and Business – Live Production Major

Kassie Dobie graduated from the two year Professional Sound and Business – Live Production Major Program in 2013. This year Kassie is working as the Registration Manager for Canadian Music Week, “recognized as one of the premier entertainment events in North America focusing on the business of music. The CMW festival spans 5 nights of performances, with 1,000 showcasing bands at more than 60 live music venues in downtown Toronto.”

Kassie’s responsibilities at CMW include contacting sponsors and various industry professionals who wish to attend the festival, providing insight and information to the public about the festival, maintaining and updating all registrations prior to the festival and overseeing the smooth operation of registrations each week. This exciting and integral role allows Kassie to interact and network with music industry professionals on a daily basis.

In addition to being a part of the team at CMW this year, Kassie is also working with Mississauga City Hall’s C Café and Banquets as the Food Services Administration. C Café provides Mississauga with a great artistic hub for various activities and open mic nights.  Her responsibilities include preparing revenue reports, assisting the manager with daily tasks, inputting and paying bills and overseeing the Facebook/social media pages for the café. This opportunity has allowed Kassie to connect and network with all departments at Mississauga’s City Hall.
