Launch 48 Metalworks News

On Monday, June 15th Producer David Bottrill and Make Music Matter CEO Darcy Ataman critiqued student mixes of songs from the Make Music Matter program at the Panzi Hospital in the Congo. David Bottrill, is a 3-time GRAMMY Award-winning Producer, Mixer and Engineer whose credits include Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Peter Gabriel, Silverchair, MUSE and Moneen among others. Founded in 2006 by Darcy Ataman, Make Music Matter is a non-profit organization which assists countries deeply scarred by conflict, trauma, violence and hardship by providing comfort and consolation through music. Recently, both David and Darcy visited the Panzi Hospital in the Congo to assist with a music rehabilitation program for survivors of sexual gender-based violence. Our students were given the opportunity to mix these recordings and showcase them for critique to both David and Darcy in Metalworks Studios, Studio 6.
