Metalworks Grads Record Jonas Brothers

Recently, Metalworks Studios was host to Grammy Award winning pop stars, The Jonas Brothers. The Brothers stopped by the studio to work on vocals for the upcoming Disney movie, Camp Rock 2. The movie also stars fellow Disney pop star, Demi Lovato who joined them in the studio.

The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato recorded over a five day session in studio 2 under the guidance of Producer, Jamie Houston. Jamie’s list of credits as a songwriter and producer includes artists and movies such as Macy Gray, Jessica Simpson, Michael Bolton, High School Musical 1, 2 & 3, Herbie Fully Loaded, Georgia Rule and Bridge to Tarabithia. Metalworks Institute Alumni, Lake Curry and Kevin Dietz engineered the sessions; Lake recording the first 4 days and Kevin taking over the 5th. Lake Curry, commented on his experience on this session:

While working at Metalworks Studios I have been exposed to many great artists, but the best part about my sessions is working with producers like Jamie Houston. He was amazing at getting great vocal takes and extremely fast at comping tracks. Overall I learnt a lot from his techniques and production style.

Both Demi Lovato and The Jonas Brothers are currently touring together in support of the Jonas Brothers album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times. While in Toronto the band played to a crowd of over 55,000 screaming fans, the largest crowd so far on their world tour. The 55,000 person crowd also sets attendance records at the Rogers Centre, along with other artists such as U2, Coldplay and Madonna who hold top spots for sold-out crowds.
