David Bottrill and Brian Moncarz
Guest Lecture at Metalworks

Metalworks Institute welcomed producer/engineer, David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, Silverchair, Placebo) & producer/engineer Brian Moncarz (Moneen, Circa Survive, Pilot Speed) for a special appearance and guest lecture. Not only are Brian and David well established producers and engineers, they also happen to be colleagues and business partners as co-owners of Rattlebox Studios.

“Dave and I were happy to be a part of the guest lecture series at Metalworks Institute. It is great to see that there are outlets for students eager to learn more about the music business and specifically audio production and engineering. We look forward to participating in this initiative again.”
Brian Moncarz

This particular guest lecture was unique as Brian interviewed David in a much music “intimate and interactive” style. With a personal connection to David, Brian was able to ask all of the right questions. Throughout the interview David divulged specific production techniques, interesting stories about working with A-list bands and helpful advice to the students of Metalworks Institute.

"The guest lecture with David Bottrill and Brian Moncarz was my favorite to date. As a full time musician/producer, it couldn't have been more relevant. Not only are these 2 of the best producers in the field, but they've worked with some of my favorite bands including Staind, Silverchair, Silverstein, Tool etc...By the end of the seminar, all my questions had been answered. I even had the chance to speak to both of them afterwards. They're both great guys and I've been lucky enough to stay in touch with them ever since".

Joel Martin - Entertainment Business Management Program

"It is refreshing to meet someone who has produced products impacting a vast variety of people and musicians. I cannot believe he grew up in our very own backyard!"
