Metalworks’ Grad Kevin Dietz in
Session
with Circa Survive & David Bottrill
Recently Metalworks Studios was host to Philadelhpia, PA experimental rock band, Circa Survive. The band was in town to work with producer David Bottrill (Peter Gabriel, Silverchair, Tool) on their third studio record and major label debut (Atlantic Records). Second engineer on this session was Metalworks Institute Alumni, Kevin Dietz. When asked about working with Circa Survive, Kevin had this to say:
“Working with Circa Survive was great. They're a very unique and talented band, and cool people as well. I'm really stoked on their new material, it's excellent. I can't wait to hear the finished product.”
Though this was not Kevin’s first time working with David Bottrill (Kevin has worked on David’s sessions for Silverchair and Placebo) he always finds the experience to be one of a kind.

“Working with David is always a huge learning experience. I've had the opportunity to work with him on a number of occasions. His attention to detail is unparalleled, in every aspect of the production. It's great to learn from his years of diverse recording experience, not only from the technical standpoint, but also from the organizational aspect of producing a major label record.”
