Metalworks Stages "Crystal Ball"
For Reach For The Rainbow

Metalworks Production Group participated in the 23rd Anniversary Crystal Ball, for Reach for the Rainbow. This is Metalwork’s fifteenth consecutive year working with the non-profit organization.

Joanne Cochrane, Production Manager and Stage Manager for the event, said, “I’m especially proud of this year’s event, because we were on a smaller budget, and we were still able to provide the client with the best.”

Reach for the Rainbow began with one mother’s determination to overcome exclusionary attitudes that affected her daughter, Dove. In 1983, what began as “a day of integration,” aimed at raising awareness of children with disabilities turned into a full-fledged integration program that works with other summer camps, to afford children with disabilities the same opportunities other children enjoy.

The Crystal Ball is the main source of funding for RFTR. Funds raised from the black-tie affair, are targeted for their annual operating budget, and support the services provided to 900 children and their parents.

Metalworks provided the lighting, the design of the room, the audio, the staging and even managed the night’s entertainment- Mary Wilson of the Supremes.

This is the 10th year Cochrane has managed the Reach for the Rainbow Crystal Ball.
