Erinoakkids band records at Metalworks Studios

Metalworks Studios recently played host to a recording session by the band Superfire, who are set to release their debut CD, Let it Ride. The recording session and subsequent CD are the culmination of a dream of a lifetime for the band, which consists of clients and volunteers from the ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development.

William Murray, music therapist at the ErinoaksKids Centre, put together the band Superfire two years ago in response to the passion the young people had for music. After receiving some equipment donated by Long & McQuade, the band began working towards the goal of recording a CD, a goal that was finally realized this past month at Metalworks.

“Things really lucked out for the band when we got the go-ahead to record at a top studio like Metalworks,” says Murray.

ErinoakKids is Ontario’s largest Children’s Treatment Centre (CTC), serving almost 9,000 young clients in Peel, Halton, Dufferin and, for some of its programs, Wellington and Waterloo.  Many of its clients have significant challenges, including cerebral palsy, traumatic injury and other medical diagnoses. Among its programs is the unique ErinoakKids Music Therapy program.

Superfire will hold a CD release party to officially launch the Let it Ride CD on June 4th at Mississauga’s Fox & Fiddle (3055 Dundas St. West).
