On Saturday, July 25th we hosted our first annual Alumni Event at Metalworks Institute (MWI).  The event gave our alumni the chance to reconnect after having left the comforts of school life for the grind of the “real world”. Graduates were treated to wine and cheese before convening in our lecture hall where Pier Di Biase, Director of Audio Production & Engineering Studies, demonstrated MWI’s online Career Centre.

MWI’s Career Centre will give our alumni the chance to gain valuable knowledge on such things as cover letter and resume creation, industry employer contacts and continuing education opportunities. The second component of the Career Centre is only accessible to MWI graduates- the Alumni site. This site exclusively links MWI alumni and the industry.  It allows alumni to apply to job postings within the entertainment industry. Thus, the Career Centre provides our graduates with the ability to strengthen their network and ultimately will assist them in finding their career in the entertainment industry (http://www.metalworksinstitute.com/alumni/index.asp).
