Finger Eleven and Placebo at Metalworks Studios

Wind-Up Records artist Finger Eleven was in Metalworks Studios recently to record unique new versions of some of the tracks from their recent Wind-Up Records album Them vs. You vs. Me. The tracks, including a re-recording of their #1 hit Paralyzer, are added bonus tracks that fans can purchase specifically from iTunes when they purchase the Finger Eleven album.

Finger Eleven recorded these bonus tracks live in Metalworks’ Studio One (with no overdubs), with all of the tracks also mixed at Metalworks Studios. L. Stu Young was head engineer on the sessions, assisted by Metalworks Institute alumnus Wayne Cochrane.

Finger Eleven is managed by Coalition Entertainment, the same firm that manages Sony/BMG platinum-selling artists Our Lady Peace. Metalworks Studios played host to Our Lady Peace back in November and December of 2004, when they worked with legendary producer Bob Rock on some of the tracks for their 2005 release, Healthy in Paranoid Times.

Also in studio recently was major recording act Placebo, who recorded some new tracks with famed Canadian producer/engineer David Bottrill (Peter Gabriel, Tool). James Brown engineered the sessions, assisted by Metalworks Institute grad Kevin Deitz, who received rave reviews from the band and Bottrill for his work in the sessions.

The band considered their recording sessions at Metalworks some of their most successful yet. Keep an eye out for the new Placebo tracks, which will be mixed by American mix engineer/producer Allen Moulder this fall.
