MWI Bursting at Seams with New Students

The week of September 8th, 2008 saw the arrival of the newest class of Metalworks Institute students, undoubtedly the largest intake of new students in the four-year history of the school.

Close to 150 new students passed through the doors of MWI during the previous week (Sept. 1st to 5th) to attend their Orientation sessions, and get fully up to speed on their courses, class schedules, and MWI policies and procedures. They were all back at MWI on Monday the 8th for their first full day of classes. The Institute’s Lecture Hall, classrooms and studios were brimming with energetic new students looking to take their first steps into the entertainment industry.

In addition to their first week of regular classes, MWI’s new students were also able to meet and greet the school’s returning third term students, along with those two-year students beginning the second year of their programs.

One of the highlights of the first week was a special guest lecture from blues guitarist and historian Rick Fines , which took place in a jam-packed MWI Lecture Hall. That was followed a couple of nights later by the first major MWI social event of the new school year, the Orientation Pub Night.
