Mad Dog & Billie Visit Metalworks Studios

Metalworks Studios recently played host to Virgin Radio morning show hosts Mad Dog and Billie. The former (Mad Dog) provided moral support for the latter (Billie), who came to the studio to record a cover of the Britney Spears hit, Gimme More.
Now in its eighth year, Mad Dog & Billie’s Breakfast Show is one of the most popular radio morning shows in the country. The show has been the host to artists such as Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, and Jesse McCartney, along with television and movie personalities like Rainn Wilson and Russell Peters.
This past month, Maurie Sherman, producer of The Breakfast Show approached Metalworks to see if the studio would be interested in recording Billie’s hit debut.
Metalworks Studios prepared for Billie’s super star performance by arranging three separate versions of the song in an attempt to match up the sounds and splice everything together. Assistant engineer Kevin Dietz (a Metalworks Institute graduate) worked on the session, while assistant studio manager Giancarlo Gallo managed the project and produced the recording.
When asked about the project Gallo admitted that he was worried about how it was going to turn out.

“Hearing yourself sing along to a song on the radio is far different from being the lead vocalist in a studio session. There’s a lot that goes into the entire process and it definitely takes a lot of work and enthusiasm”
The Metalworks team, along with Mad Dog and Billie shared some laughs while Billie was giving her all on the studio floor. To listen to Billie’s single, check out the following link: www.virginradio999.com/node/801722
