“Get to Know a Metalworks Rep”: Admissions Counsellor Joel Martin!

This month’s edition of “Get to Know a Metalworks Rep!” features Admissions Counsellor Joel Martin. Joel has been an Admissions Counsellor at our Institute for seven months, and is actually a graduate of the Entertainment Business Management program. Prior to being an Admissions Counsellor, Joel was the Promotions & Events Coordinator, which allowed for him to network and work with industry icons including Rush, Randy Bachman, Triumph and Neil Young. Joel is also a successful singer/songwriter, having played over 500 shows, played a private show for the Prime Minister and been a finalist on Canadian Idol!

As an Admissions Counsellor, Joel speaks with prospective students every day, and understands the student experience firsthand. “I learned a lot as a student, but the two biggest ways that Metalworks Institute furthered my career was giving me access to a network of professionals, and real-world opportunities. My Dad always says “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” In that sense, I’m extremely grateful that I get to wake up every day with a smile on my face knowing I get paid to live my dream.”
