All private post secondary educators in Ontario are reviewed and approved by the Government for OSAP eligibility. This is completed on an annual basis for the upcoming academic year. Thus, between academic years, the online application may be unavailable and Metalworks Institute may not appear on the list of approved schools. Our FAA will send out an email to all registered students when the Ministry starts accepting online applications for private institutions.

Once you complete the online application, you will be provided with instructions via the “check status” section as to what you need to do next. Certain forms will need to be sent to Metalworks Institute (to the FAA’s attention) and once they are reviewed, they will be sent to Ministry for processing. Your application will be reviewed and your FAA will contact you with any required follow up requirements. Once you have been approved for funding you will be provided with a Notice of Assessment (within 6-8 weeks).

Please be sure to submit to the FAA (via regular mail) your original completed OSAP documentation as follows;

  1. Request for Study Period (RSPI) – can be sent via e-mail as no original signatures needed
  2. Applicant Declaration and Signature pages
