Alumni Update: Jeff Crake, Audio Production and Engineering

Following completion of the Audio Production and Engineering program in 2008, Jeff (Grimm) Crake started out with an internship at Metalworks Studios. With much perseverance and determination, Jeff is now a senior engineer at Metalworks Studios and holds various credits with a wide range of artists that include ClassifiedMemphis BleekAlexisonfireKaty Perry and Moneen to name a few!

At the Juno Awards this year, Monster Truck’s The Brown EP took home the award for “Breakthrough Group of the Year” with Jeff as assistant engineer! Jeff was also a part of Classified’s hit Inner Ninja, which took home the Juno for “Rap Recording of the Year “– Congratulations Jeff! As we head further into 2013, Jeff alongside fellow graduate (2008) Rainer Miller-Blanchaer, has been working extensively on a new project, We Were Born Electric. This “supercharged duo have been quietly establishing themselves as the next big thing in electronic dance music. Individually, they boast platinum and gold selling songwriting credits, endless engineering credits from one of Canada’s top recording studios, Metalworks Studios and more than a decade of DJ experience. From songwriting with The Weeknd and Drake to various EDM releases, placements on MTV’s Jersey Shore and performances at one of Toronto’s biggest dance festivals, Digital Dreams, these guys have the combined elements to dominate the pop and EDM scene.” Be sure to check out We Were Born Electric on FacebookSoundCloud and Twitter!
