Alumni Update: Chris Thompson, Entertainment Business Management
Graduated From: Entertainment Business Management Diploma (2015)
Chris Thompson graduated from the Entertainment Business Management Program in July of 2015. Upon completing the program, he was hired to work with the team at Watson Entertainment, a full service artist management company based out of Toronto. Chris is now a co-manager at Watson Entertainment where he advises and counsels the artists on Watson’s roster and handles all business related activities and transactions surrounding their careers. His responsibilities include soliciting interviews, booking shows, handling business transactions, networking, planning, and general forecasting.
Through networking opportunities at Watson Entertainment, Chris connected with Ryan Heerschap owner of I Book Shows, and was offered a position with the company. I Book Shows is a full-service entertainment agency booking events and live performances for their roster of artists. The company has worked with notable events throughout North America including Digital Dreams, Wakestock, HEAVY TO, and Edgefest. Chris assists the team at I Book Shows by providing ticket counts, drawing and issuing contracts, social media management, database management and acts as a liaison for the company and all third parties.
Chris balances his time between Watson Entertainment and I Book Shows while also running his own artist management firm, Electric Boy Entertainment, an artist management and development company operating out of Toronto. His company mandate is to support, develop and further each of his artists’ careers. His current roster includes three artists and two bands all of different genres.
