Alumni Review: Crystal Carew, Show Production & Event Management (2008)

Crystal Carew graduated from the Show Production & Event Management Program back in 2008. We recently sat down with Crystal to discuss her experiences since graduation and share her review of the Institute.

Why did you come to Metalworks?
I wanted to find a way to work and make live entertainment my career. I had no history or connection to the entertainment industry, so I decided to look for a school that would give me the knowledge to get me started. Metalworks just seemed to be the right choice for what I wanted.

What motivated you to work in the music industry? 
I have always loved live entertainment. I am not a musician of any kind, but I do appreciate every part of music, the art and all the hard work it takes to get there. Not being a performer myself, I figured I would work behind the scenes.

What was your time at the Institute like?
My time at the Institute was an experience that I will take with me wherever I go. It was intense and a lot of hard work, but it was also a lot of fun. The hard work got me well prepared for the industry. The people I met and the connections I have made from my time at school is what made the whole experience worth it.

Now  that you work with Metalworks Production Group, what has your life been like since graduation?
Life at Metalworks Production Group has been great. I continue to learn new things every day. The people I work with are hardworking individuals who know how to have a good time. As a part of Metalworks Production Group, I have attended many shows and events. Overall, I am having a great experience. Metalworks is a growing company with a great future and I am proud to be a part of it.
