Metalworks Institue of Sound and Music Production is private school specializing in the entertainment industry. The 1 year programs offered at the school include Audio Production and Engineering, Entertainment Business Management, and Show Production and Event Management. 2 Year programs are Professional Sound and Business - Live Production Major, Professional Sound and Business - Studio Production Major, and Professional Sound - Audio Production Major. Part-time studies at the school include the Digidesign Pro School courses, where all courses offered by Digidesign are available at this school.

The Audio Production and Engineering program teaches students about the latest technologies in the audio production, recording and engineering industry. Everything from how to set up a mic, mixing, recording, engineering, audio production, radio broadcasting and much more. With instructors who are currently in the audio industry, students get the latest and up to date information regarding the state of the audio engineering industry. New techniques, practices and tricks all come from real-world expereince, and students get to experience this first-hand in an hands on environment. The theory also helps to broaden the understanding of audio recording, engineering, production and mixing for the students so they can adapt themselves to any circumstances that may arise. With the partnership of world renowned studio Metalworks Studios, students also develop a direct connection into the entertainment industry. Metalworks Studios has been named "Recording Studio of the Year" for over a decade and it's because of the high end facilities that the studios have and the students get the chance to work with industry standard facilities.

Entertainment Business Management teaches students about the business side of the entertainment industry. Learning such things as music contracts, managing artists, music laws, marketing strategies and much more pertaining the the business of entertainment industry. Like the other programs at Metalworks Institute, the Entertainment Business Management program also gives students a hands on experience. School trips to various record and music labels gives the students an opportunity to see what it is like in the industry. Guest lecturers from the industry also gives students an insight into the latest trends and happenings in the business of music marketing and many other things. The Mississauga Future Star competition also gives students a chance to manage an artist, using the knowledge they have gained in class to help a competitor develop their image, personality and stage persona. This with many other projects are here to help develop and give students the learning edge that will help them succeed in the entertainment industry.

Show Production and Event Management is a program that teaches students about the live entertainment industry. From setting up stages, lighting and sound equipment, to planning and managing a live event show. The partnership with Metalworks Production Group gives students a true hands on experience with the latest gear and technology being used in live event productions. Many of the instructors of the Show Production and Event Management program are experts in the live event show industry. Leaders in lighting and effects, sound and audio setups, as well as managing the stage are all found among the instructors in this program. On top of the studies at Metalworks Institute, students are also given valuable opportunities to volunteer on actual live event shows that Metalworks Production Group are hired to work on. This gives them true hands on experience in the industry that cannot be taught within a classroom environment.

The 2 year programs offered at Metalworks Institute; Professional Sound and Business - Live Production Major, Professaional Sound and Business - Studio Production Major, and Professional Sound - Audio Production Major, are all geared to help students specialize in various aspects of the entertainment industry.

The part-time progarm, Digidesign Pro School, is a group of courses that individuals can take to specialize in using Digidesign software. Digidesign is the leader in audio engineering, recording, production and mixing software. The Pro Tools courses are designed to help students learn these industry standard software programs.
